โครงการชั่งหัวมัน

ณ โครงการชั่่งหัวมัน ตามพระราชดำริ ที่แห่งนี้นี่แหละ คือสถานที่ที่มีคนแวะเวียนไปชนิดที่ว่า หัวกระไดไม่เคยแห้ง และที่นี่ก็คือ บ้านไร่ของในหลวง

พื้นที่ ของโครงการชั่่งหัวมัน ตามพระราชดำริ อยู่ในความดูแลของ กองทัพภาคที่ 1 ซึ่งโครงการนี้เกิดขึ้นจากความเอาพระทัยใส่ของพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ที่ทรงมีต่อเกษตรกรในการที่จะพัฒนาส่งเสริมอาชีพเกษตรกรรม ให้ประสบความสำเร็จและสามารถเลี้ยงดูตัวเองและครอบครัวได้อย่างยั่งยืน

ต้นกำเนิดของพื้นที่แห่งนี้ เริ่มขึ้นตอนที่ตอนพระองค์ท่านประทับอยู่ ณ วังไกลกังวลแล้วมีชาวบ้านนำมันเทศมาถวาย ช่วงนั้นพระองค์ต้องเสด็จกลับกรุงเทพเลยรับสั่งให้เจ้าหน้าที่นำหัวมันเทศ นั้นไปวางไว้บนตาชั่งในห้องทรงงานจากนั้นก็เสด็จกลับกรุงเทพ

ที่ดิน จำนวนกว่า 250 ไร่ แต่เดิมที่แห่งนี้เป็นดินลูกรัง ปลูกไม้ยูคาลิปตัส พระองค์ทรงนำจากพระราชทรัพย์ส่วนพระองค์ซื้อจากชาวบ้านและทรงแสดงชื่อเป็น เจ้าของที่ดินในนามเกษตรกร และทรงพระราชทานพันธุ์มันเทศ ซึ่งงอกออกมาจากหัวมันที่ตั้งโชว์ไว้บนตาชั่งในห้องทรงงานที่วังไกลกังวล ให้นำมาปลูกไว้ที่ที่ดินแปลงนี้พระราชทานชื่อโครงการว่า “โครงการชั่งหัวมัน ตามพระราชดำริ”

และก็ยังมีส่วนของกังหัน ผลิตไฟฟ้า มีฟาร์มโคนม ฟาร์มไก่ และแปลงเกษตรที่จัดเป็นสวยสวยให้คนที่แวะมาเยี่ยมชม ได้พักผ่อน นั่งเล่นตามซุ้มเงาร่มไม้ตามอัธยาศัย

งานในโครงการแห่งนี้ มีชาวบ้านสมัครมาเป็นลูกจ้าง คอยดูแลพืชพรรณ ฟาร์มสัตว์ และช่วยกันดำเนินงาน เหมือนเป็นการสร้างอาชีพให้กับชาวบ้านไปอีกทางหนึ่ง

มีคนเล่าว่า ที่ดิน ณ บ้านไร่ของในหลวง แห่งนี้ พอพระองค์ทรงซื้อมา และเป็นไร่ส่วนพระองค์และมีพระประสงค์ให้เป็นไร่ตัวอย่าง ก็มีหน่วยงานราชการซึ่งมีข้าราชการเก่งกาจประเภททำให้ “ดินพูดได้” และบริษัทเอกชน ร่วมพัฒนาที่ดินและทดลองปลูกพืชไร่นอกเหนือจากที่พระองค์ทรงปลูกไว้แล้ว  โดยมีชาวบ้านบริเวณนั้นมาสมัครเป็นลูกจ้าง จนกระทั่งเจริญจนถึงทุกวันนี้

ถ้าใครคิดว่า “หัวมัน” นั้นไร้ค่า เป็นอาหารชั้นสอง ก็ลองมาฟังเรื่องจริงก็มหาเศรษฐีชาวญี่ปุ่นเจ้าของเกียวโตแบงก์ ที่ร่ำรวยขึ้นมาจากหัวมัน
